Christmas Tree / Life Tree

Sharing an old Turkish (from Middle Asia times) celebration date. It is Nardugan, meaning the rise of sun. The night of solstice is the end of the long nights and the sun is getting longer. Ancient Turks celebrated this event, the victory of sun, under the special "pine" trees Akçam [árvore de Natal], white pine) that grows in that region. They ate together, placed gifts under that tree. The belief was that this is the life tree and in the center of world there was that tree. They believed that Sky God "Ulgen" would hear them if they prayed together aorund that trees celebrating the rebirth of sun.
